Enroll at Pittsburg State

You're just a few steps away from becoming a Gorilla. Our focus on your success starts right now. Our enrollment process isn't a single day, instead it's a series of fun events and activities designed to help you succeed in the classroom and on our campus.

Pre-enrollment

Get accepted - apply for admission.

Enrollment steps

Step #1
Complete your Admission file.  Request that your final transcript(s) be sent directly to PSU. Your final transcripts must be provided before the first day of class to avoid financial aid delays.

Step #2
Apply for financial aid, if you haven't already.  This includes completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Step #3
Confirm your housing arrangements.  Housing contracts are available to complete online beginning in February at University Housing. Submit the contract early!

Step #4
Register for your GUS account.  GUS stands for "Gorilla User System" and allows you to update personal information, register for a PSU email account, review financial aid awards and receive financial aid file updates.  Visit GUS LOGIN KEY to register for your account. You will need your PSU ID# that was provided on your admission letter to complete this process.

Step #5
Check your GUS email at least once a week.  You will be required to choose a Pitt State email address the first time you sign in to GUS.  This address is where important information from us will be sent.

Step #6
Accept your scholarships and financial aid.  If you're eligible for scholarships or financial aid, you'll receive and awards letter in your GUS email account.  Login to GUS to accept your awards package.

Step #7
Register to attend Pitt CARES the PSU orientation program for new students.  At Pitt CARES students are introduced to college life at PSU and, most importantly, enroll for the upcoming semester.  Registration information is sent to new freshmen in October and sent to new transfer students in October or March depending on the semester they plan to attend.

Enrollment dates for Non-degree seeking students or students who are not coming directly from high school or another institution may vary.

Step #8
Prepare to move into your Residence Hall and to the 'Burg!

Step #9
Get ready for your first day of classes!

Step #10
Participate in Off-2-PSU, a week (or more!) long event to welcome new students!
