Individual visits

The PSU Office of Admission welcomes campus visitors every day of the week. Registration is required for all visits. Parents and siblings are always welcome to accompany you.

Your visit will include:

  • Admission presentation (approx. 30 minutes)
  • Campus tour with one of our University Student Ambassadors (approx. 1 hour)
  • Optional academic appointment (approx. 1 hour)*

*Academic appointments are not guaranteed and are dependent upon faculty availability. Academic appointments are not available on Fridays at 1:00 pm.

Group visits

The Pittsburg State Admission Office is pleased to host campus visits geared toward groups of 10 or more students. Group visits are a great way for students to experience our student-friendly campus and learn more about both academic and co-curricular opportunities available at Pitt State.

Types of Groups: Schools, TRIO, AVID.

Group Visit Activities

Admission Presentation and Campus Tour. All group visits include a 60-minute informational admission financial aid presentation and a 45-minute tour of PSU's main campus. Students are encouraged to dress comfortably and appropriately for expected weather conditions.

Additional Activities. Activities are offered depending upon availability and AGE OF GROUP. We cannot guarantee they are available on your selected date.

  • Kansas Technology Center - 60 minute tour of the Kansas Technology Center and College of Technology
  • Rec Center - 30 minute tour of the Student Recreation Center
  • Plaster Center - 30 minute tour of the Robert W. Plaster Center
  • Bicknell Center - 30 minute tour of the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts

FAQ's

Q. What about COVID-19?
The health of your family, our students, faculty and staff are our top priority. Masks are optional while you are visiting campus. Please reschedule your visit if you are experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms.

Q. When should I schedule my campus visit?
Campus visits require at least 7 days notice, but you can schedule as far in advance as our system allows. Please note: Online registration is required and space is limited.

Q. I only want an Academic Appointment, do I need to schedule a campus visit?
No. Please contact our office at 620-235-4251 and we will help you schedule the appointment.

Q. Will I receive any information prior to my campus visit?
Yes! You will receive an email confirming your scheduled visit within 15 minutes of successfully submitting your registration. Our Campus Visit Coordinator will contact you a day in advance to confirm your appointment, send directions, and a campus map.

Q. Where should I park once I am on campus?
When you get to campus, please park in the Gold parking lot located directly behind Horace Man. There will be a visitor sign with your name in this parking lot.

Q. Where should I go when I get to campus?
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your selected visit time in the Student Welcoming Center, Horace Mann Building, Room 107.

Q. What will my day look like once I check-in?
Your schedule for the day may vary based on the activities you selected for your visit. Admission presentations last approximately 30 minutes, campus tours last approximately 45 minutes, and academic appointments* can last up to 1 hour. *Academic appointments are dependent upon Faculty availability and are not guaranteed.
